Finally, some really promising good news for swine producers.
2020 has been the worst of a string of poor years, forcing losses across the entire industry at levels not seen before. Many factors have contributed to the state of the market, not the least of which is the arrival of the Wuhan Virus and the corresponding reaction to COVID-19. World markets were already in disarray after the devastation of African Swine Fever throughout Asia, on top of PRRS and PED there and elsewhere, including North America in previous years.
PRRS in particular has taken a stubbornly high toll. But last week, it was reported in Feedstuffs Magazine, that there is a seemingly bright ray of light on the horizon. It appears a compound has been found which blocks the PRRS virus from attaching infecting healthy cells. See the details here:https://www.feedstuffs.com/nut...

This program applies to animal producers and related supporting industries. Insurance agents and brokers having clients within the animal agriculture sectors are encouraged to visit with us for more information.
