The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have proposed a clarification to the 2015 redefinition by the previous federal administration. The new language much more closely follows the original statutory language and understanding of it that was followed for the four decades prior to the redefinition. An adoption of the clarification would return greater regulatory power to the individual states, but greatly simply land management and stewardship for agricultural interests.
